Experienced Public Safety Leadership

Aref Abdellatif has over twenty-five years of experience in public safety. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety from Southern Illinois University with a dual concentration in Fire Service Administration and Emergency Management Administration. He later earned a Master of Science in Threat and Response Management from the University of Chicago.

Aref has served in multiple roles with the Chicago Fire Department, including Paramedic, Firefighter/Paramedic, Candidate Instructor EMT/Paramedic, Paramedic/EMT Candidate Coordinator, Assistant to the Special Project Chief, Department Infection Control Officer, and member of the Joint Hazard Assessment Team. He has also served as Fire/EMS coordinator with the Chicago Police and Fire Training Academy, EMT-Coordinator/Adjunct Faculty at Oakton College, and instructor/facilitator with Chicago CERT.
